Crystal Palace are set to tie up the signing of 24-year-old defender Pape Souare from Lille by the end of the week.

According to northern French daily La Voix du Nord, the Eagles are rapidly closing in on Souare as they look to bolster their squad before the closure of the transfer window.

Souare linked up with Lille in 2008 and eventually graduated to the club's senior team, making his senior bow in 2010.

The 24-year-old, who represents Senegal at international level and has 13 caps to his name, has featured regularly for Lille this season.

Indeed, Souare has turned out in 12 Ligue 1 games for Rene Girard's men, although with clocking up five appearances in the Europa League and four in the Champions League qualifiers respectively.
