Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane is delighted with yesterday’s win over Sheffield United which booked their trip to Wembley for the League Cup final.

The Londoners travelled to Bramall Lane for the second leg of their League Cup semi-final tie with a one goal advantage courtesy of their 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane.

A 28th minute Christian Eriksen strike put Spurs ahead, but two goals from Che Adams put the tie into the balance in the second half. The tie looked destined to head into extra time before Kane provided a sublime assist in the 88th minute which Eriksen converted to confine Sheffield United to a 3-2 aggregate loss.

The 21-year-old has expressed his delight after helping his team reach the final against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

“I’m absolutely buzzing to reach Wembley – I don’t think words can describe how I feel”, Kane told the club site.

Kane also praised the perseverance of his team-mates that ultimately helped them find the late goal that sealed their win over a spirited Sheffield United.

“It looked like the game was going our way and then all of a sudden it changed, but I think it shows the character of the side to then have to go again and get the goal that takes us to Wembley.

“There were a lot of emotions going around after their second goal but we knew we were still in the game – even if it went to extra time, we just had to try to get ourselves going again and we did that when Chris got a chance and put it away so we’re really happy”, he concluded.

The win means that Tottenham Hotspur will face Chelsea in the trophy decider at Wembley on 1st March, as they aim to win their first trophy since 2008.
