FC Dnipro winger and Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka’s father has revealed that his son might not join Roma this month.

Both clubs reached an agreement over the 25-year-old winger earlier this week and Roma were expected to complete a deal to sign him before the transfer window shuts next Monday.

However, it emerged yesterday that all was not going according to plan for Giallorossi and they were finding it hard to agree personal terms with the player.

Now the player’s father has said that his son might not join Roma this month, despite Dnipro wanting to sell the player to earn a fee.

He added that Konoplyanka wants to stay at the club until the end of the season before making a decision on his future in the summer, when he will be a free agent.

“Most likely, the contract with Roma will not be signed”, the winger’s father told FootballUa.tv.

“What I would like to say is that AS Roma did everything they could and they have a mad desire [to sign him].

“But my son wants to stay here until June.”

The development will come as good news for Liverpool, who have been tracking the player since last January, and might make move for him at the end of the season, when Konoplyanka’s contract with Dnipro expires.
