Torino have failed to come up with a suitable financial offer for Fiorentina schemer Josip Ilicic, who has also been linked with a move to Leeds United.

The transfer saga surrounding Ilicic has been one of the talking points of the winter window with interest from clubs such as Bologna, Torino and Leeds.

Both player and the club are keen to part ways this month, but Fiorentina have found it hard to find a suitable deal for the Slovenian schemer.

Bologna came up with an acceptable bid for Fiorentina, but the player was insistent on not playing in the second tier of Italian football and rejected their offer.

Torino were the favourites to land him and the player was also believed to be interested in joining them, however according to Gazzetta dello Sport, La Viola have rejected their bid for Ilicic.
