Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has advised his players to be cautious and not get carried away after their good results in the past couple of weeks.

Wenger’s team defeated the defending Premier League champions Manchester City 2-0 in their last league fixture on 18th January at the Etihad Stadium.

Last week they got the better of Brighton 3-2 in their fourth round FA Cup tie and have been drawn to face Middlesbrough in their fifth round tie as they look to defend the trophy they won last year.

Talking at a press conference ahead of Arsenal's weekend clash against Aston Villa, Wenger described the mood in the dressing room as very good, but reflected that the mood can swing if the results do not go their way.

“Maybe [the current feeling is the best of the season].

“But we have to be very cautious with the mood in our job because the swings are very quick so the best way you can deal with that is…it helps to get the next result.

“You need a good balance between an optimistic mood and urgency as well”, Wenger added.

The Frenchman urged his team to maintain a high level of concentration as they approach the business end of the season and asked his team to stay 100 per cent committed to their cause.

“We are in a job where of course you want the level of concentration very high and that is what we want to achieve now.

“We go into a period in the next four months that will decide our season. We have to be conscious that our commitment has to be 100 per cent.”

Arsenal will host Aston Villa in their next Premier League encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and will aim for a further three point haul to boost their top four chances.
