Salford City right-back Sadiq El Fitouri has joined Manchester United on an 18-month contract.

The 20-year-old full-back made his debut for Salford, part-owned by Manchester United old boys Ryan Giggs, Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, in the Northern Premier League last month.

He has impressed the Manchester United coaches in a week-long trial at the club’s training facilities, which earned him a contract at Old Trafford.

The Libya-born defender, who was previously at Manchester City, feels grateful towards Manchester United for showing faith in his abilities and said that he is looking forward to developing under Warren Joyce for the club’s Under-21 side.

"This is honestly a dream come true for me and I have to thank Salford City for the chance, as well as the faith they have shown in me", El Fitouri told the club’s official site.
