Pep Guardiola has told the Bayern Munich hierarchy that he is not keen on signing Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus, in news which will come as a big boost to the German's other suitors, a group which includes Liverpool and Manchester United.

The Germany international has a release clause in his contract which kicks in over the summer and he could be available for as little as €25m, which has led to a mad scramble among some of the top club to secure his signature.

From England, Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in signing Reus and given Barcelona’s transfer ban, Real Madrid are the top contenders for his signature from Spain.

German champions Bayern Munich have been maintaining that they would be naturally interested in a top German international, but it has emerged that their coach is not too enthralled at the idea of recruiting Reus.

According to German daily Bild, though Guardiola is appreciative of Reus’ qualities, the Spaniard has told the Bayern Munich hierarchy that he doesn’t need the player in his squad.
