Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella has confirmed that Chelsea-linked winger Juan Cuadrado will be leaving the club in the winter transfer window.

Chelsea have been doing all the leg work since last week to sign the Colombian winger from La Viola and have been in constant touch with the player’s agent.

Though Fiorentina were initially reluctant to lose the player for anything less than his €35m release clause, both clubs have reached an agreement for a fee of around €31m, with Mohamed Salah joining La Viola on loan.

Cuadrado is expected to arrive in London today and complete his medical before signing on the dotted line with Chelsea.

Montella admits that the Colombian is on the verge of leaving the club and thanked him for his services at Fiorentina. He also expressed his sadness at losing a player of Cuadrado’s quality, but said that his departure was inevitable.
