Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn believes that his assistant Steve Thompson can prove to be useful in handling the Huddersfield Town threat today.

Thompson, a former Huddersfield Town assistant coach, arrived at Elland Road last month and will be well aware of the Terriers' players and their style of play through his association with the west Yorkshire-based side.

And as Redfearn's side prepare to visit the John Smith's Stadium this lunchtime, the 49-year-old hopes that his team will hold an advantage over their opponents through their association with Thompson.

"He knows them, he knows their players", Redfearn told his club's official site.

Redfearn also revealed that his team are well aware of what the Terriers are about by watching their match against Wigan Athletic last week and so will try to exploit their weak areas to register a win tomorrow.

"We went and watched them against Wigan so we know what they’re about.

"They’ve got a couple of different ways of playing and they’ll probably be aware that Steve knows what they’re about and what they do."

The most important factor, according to the Leeds boss, will be however for the Whites to concentrate on themselves and make sure that they are perfect themselves.

"The most important thing from our point of view is that we concentrate on us. We’ve got to make sure that we’re right first.

"If we don’t perform and we don’t do want we’re supposed to do then we’ll make it hard for ourselves."
