Roma are plotting a possible move for Manchester United-linked Dynamo Kyiv defender Aleksandar Dragovic.

The former FC Basel man was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last week as part of Louis van Gaal’s plans to strengthen his Manchester United defence for the second half of the season.

It was speculated that the Manchester United board have green-lit a €20m bid to snare Dragovic and their possible move only needed the Glazer family’s nod.

However, the Red Devils are yet to play their card in the transfer saga and according to Sportitalia, Roma are now having a closer look at the possibility of signing the 23-year-old defender.

The Giallorossi are looking for defensive reinforcements this month and are ready to make a late move for the Dynamo Kyiv centre half.

However, Manchester United are still being considered the favourites to land the defender this month and are believed to be ready to make an offer towards the fag end of the winter window.

The defender of Serbian origin has already earned 32 caps for Austria and has made 57 appearances for Dynamo Kyiv since joining from FC Basel.
