Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino feels his players showed strong character and a strong mentality to beat West Brom 3-0 in a Premier League clash earlier today.

Spurs wasted little time in going ahead at the Hawthornes, with Christian Eriksen continuing to produce the goods from free kicks, hitting a right footed shot into the top left hand corner in the 6th minute.

And the visitors increased their advantage in the 15th minute, with Harry Kane hitting the back of the net after being played in by Moussa Dembele.

Then in the second half Kane popped up again to secure Spurs' third of the match, truly killing off West Brom.

With a penalty having been awarded following a foul by Joleon Lescott, Kane made no mistake from the spot, scoring in the 64th minute to make it 3-0 for Spurs.

West Brom had nothing in the tank to reply and fell to a 3-0 defeat to Spurs.

For Pochettino, whose side booked a spot in the League Cup final after coming through a semi-final with Sheffield United earlier this week, his men were resolute against the Baggies.

"I’m very pleased and very proud of our players", he told Spurs TV.

"We showed character and strong mentality and this is the way we want to play."

Pochettino also took time to pay tribute to the club's supporters.

"I’m also proud of our supporters, they were great again, amazing in their support and we thank them for that.

"I think the 3-0 scoreline showed that we are in a very good way."
