Leeds United are just one step away from snapping up Albania international striker Edgar Cani from Catania.

The Whites are hoping to add another striker to their ranks before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow evening.

They saw another of their targets in Leonardo Pavoletti slip out of reach on Friday evening, when he penned a deal with Serie A outfit Genoa.

Leeds have quickly focused in on Cani, a man who until now they have been unable to reach an agreement with Catania for.

Now, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the Whites have thrashed out a €600,000 fee with Catania for Cani.

Catania had been asking for €800,000, but Leeds' prior offer fell well short, coming in at €450,000.

Now however Leeds are rapidly closing in on the tall Albanian hitman and are confident of adding him to the ranks at Elland Road before the transfer window slams shut.

Cani has also interested Bari and Latina Calcio.
