Scott Brown feels Celtic were clearly the better side against Rangers today and good value for their 2-0 League Cup semi-final win.

The Bhoys took the lead after just ten minutes, with Leigh Griffiths firing Celtic in front and putting Rangers instantly on the back foot at Hampden Park.

And Celtic, who continued to dominate, pressed home their advantage by striking again in the 31st minute, this time the goalscorer being Kris Commons.

Rangers struggled to land any significant blows on Celtic, who strolled to victory in the second half, closing the game down.

The Gers could not test Craig Gordon in the Celtic goal and the Bhoys booked their spot in the League Cup final against Dundee United.

For Brown, who won the man of the match award, there was little doubt Celtic deserved victory and he claimed his side were not just the better footballing team, but the better battling team too.

"I think after the first half we had done the job", he told the BBC. "In the second half we sat back and counter attacked, letting them come on to us, but I don't think they had a shot on target really.

"We knew what we were here to do. We did our job and that was the main thing.

"[The pitch was] shocking. But at the end of the day we were the better footballing team and the better battling team."

Brown also believes that Celtic are capable of achieving great things under manager Ronny Deila.

"Team spirit is everything for the club and we believe we can go on to do things."
