Italian giants Roma have snapped up Colombian striker Victor Ibarbo on loan until the end of the season to bolster their forward options.

Ibarbo has swapped Cagliari for the Serie A title challengers, penning a loan agreement to keep him at the Stadio Olimipco until the end of the campaign.

Roma, who have handed Ibarbo the number 19 shirt, will have the option to keep him at the club permanently for a payment of €12.5m in the summer, should he impress.

More immediately, the Giallorossi have also splashed out €2.5m in terms of a loan fee for Ibarbo.

Ibarbo clocked up 13 appearances this term in Serie A for Cagliari, scoring two goals and providing two assists for his team-mates.
