Ahead of their match against Real Madrid, Sevilla manager Unai Emery has insisted that despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence, Carlo Ancelotti’s team they will be a potent attacking threat.

A resurgent Sevilla, who are currently lying fourth in the league as they bid for qualification to the Champions League, are due to play Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu tonight.

Real Madrid’s talisman Ronaldo will miss the match as he is still serving the two-match ban which he was handed due to a straight red card in their match against Cordoba.

However, Emery believes that even with the Portuguese’s absence Ancelotti’s side have enough firepower to trouble Sevilla.

“It’s clear that Real Madrid’s attacking ability is high at the Bernabeu”, Emery said at a pre-match press conference, when asked what impact no Ronaldo could have.

However, he further added that with an astute defence his side have the potential to trouble their opponents.

“Our defensive situation has to be important, but you cannot win if you don’t build attacks – we also have to consider that.”

Real Madrid will look to gain all three points tonight which would see the reigning European champions extend their lead to four points in the race for the Spanish title.
