Following his departure from Manchester United, midfielder Anderson has revealed that injuries undermined his tenure at the Premier League outfit.

Anderson moved to Internacional on a free transfer and signed a four-year deal with the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A club in the recent winter transfer window, completing the formalities on Monday.

The midfielder arrived at Manchester United from FC Porto on a deal worth £20m in 2007. During his tenure at the club he made over a 100 league appearances and won the Premier League as well as the Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson’s management.

But the 26-year-old increasingly found it difficult to break into Manchester United’s first team in the recent seasons and made a solitary appearance in the league this term for Louis van Gaal’s team.

Anderson thanked the Red Devils for his time at the club and added that a recurring knee injury undermined his playing time for them and due to which he could never find the form of his early years at Old Trafford.
