Manchester United scouts were present at Inter's 3-0 win over Palermo at the weekend to check up on the progress of Mauro Icardi.

The Red Devils have joined rivals Liverpool in holding an interest in the striker and are now doing their homework ahead of a potential bid for the Argentine in the summer transfer window.

Icardi was in superb form against Palermo, scoring for his side in the 65th and 88th minutes to help them return to winning ways following a run of three successive defeats, much to the relief of coach Roberto Mancini.

And according to Sky Italia, Manchester United talent spotters were in attendance at the San Siro to make a personal check on Icardi.

The 21-year-old has been in good form for Inter this term, despite their domestic troubles.
