Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that he has his eyes on Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie, a player he has a soft spot for.

Koeman coached Clasie at De Kuip before upping sticks to take over at Premier League outfit Southampton in the summer, where he has worked wonders, the Saints currently sitting third in the table and established as surprise top four contenders.

The Dutchman has already signed Eredivisie stars for Southampton, drafting in Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic – and Clasie could be next.

He told Voetbal International: "I am very fond of him.

"He is on our list."

Southampton are also keen on another Feyenoord man in the shape of Tonny Vilhena, a man he wanted to take to St. Mary's in the recently concluded winter transfer window.

"I dared to have Tonny. I know him well and I know what he can do", Koeman said.

"In addition, we do have have a left-footed midfielder in our squad and we could use a type like him."

Despite his tender years, Clasie is already captain of Feyenoord and a key man for the Rotterdam-based club.

Meanwhile, Vilhena, only 20 years old, has already won 16 caps for the Netherlands Under-21 side.
