Former Arsenal star Jay Bothroyd has linked up with Japanese side Jubilo Iwata.

Bothroyd, who was schooled in the youth ranks at Arsenal and then launched his senior career at Coventry City, has signed on the dotted line for the J.League 2 team.

The striker most recently played in Thailand for Muangthong United, but will now continue his career in Japan.

Now 32 years old, Bothroyd has represented England from Under-16 to Under-21 level, while also winning a senior Three Lions cap in 2010 in recognition of his fine form at Cardiff City.

The striker has turned out for a number of clubs and first played abroad early in his career, when heading to Italy with Perugia in 2003.

Jubilo Iwata finished fourth in the Japanese second tier last term, reaching the playoffs, and will be hoping Bothroyd can fire them to the top flight this coming season.
