Borussia Dortmund are eyeing a summer swoop for Arsenal target and Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira in the summer.

Real Madrid’s recent midfield acquisitions are making the World Cup winner, whose contract expires at the end of the season, think twice before extending his stay at the club and though he wants to stay, the German is assessing his options before committing to a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder since last summer and his contract situation also makes him an attractive option for Italian giants AC Milan.

Bayern Munich are also interested in taking the midfielder to Germany in the summer and it has been claimed in some quarters that personal terms have been agreed between the club and the player, which the Bundesliga champions have vehemently denied.

According to Bild, another German club in the form of Borussia Dortmund are now keeping tabs on Khedira and are eyeing a swoop for the midfielder at the end of the season.

Though the club are engaged in a relegation dogfight at the moment, Dortmund are confident of survival in the Bundesliga and are already making plans for next season.

The eight-time German champions have made Khedira a priority target for the summer and believe that he will help the club to challenge for top honours in Germany again next term.

Though Arsenal have been tracking the midfielder since last summer, a move back to his homeland is believed to be an enticing prospect for Khedira, who is still to make a decision on his future at Real Madrid.
