AC Milan defender Adil Rami has conceded that his team have lost confidence, but sees the match against Cesena tomorrow as an opportunity to regain at least some of it.

Domenico Di Carlo's team are currently placed 19th in the Serie A table and are desperately fighting to avoid relegation.

While the match therefore serves as an opportunity for Filippo Inzaghi's team to return to winning ways, there is no chance of Milan taking the match lightly, according to Rami, as any mistake could prove to be costly.

Given the current situation that the Rossoneri find themselves in and the disappointment that the fans are experiencing at present, the 29-year-old feels that there would be nothing better than a win to cheer everybody up.

"It is very hard for us right now, we’re all aware of how important Milan is and that we have to win", Rami told his club's official site.

"We’ve lost our confidence and we’re working hard to regain it and restore winning ways. We’re preparing for Sunday’s match and to make a winning return."

The former Valencia man also took time to speak about their last match against Empoli that they drew 1-1, stressing that it was a hard result to accept given the way they played.

However, he vows the team will give it their everything during the match against Cesena on Sunday in order to bring back at least some hope both among the fans as well as within the team.

"It was hard to accept the result after the Empoli match. The fans, the club and all of us are down and it is hard to accept, but we will give everything to start winning again."

Rami also reflected on his own form, highlighting the need to do better during the coming matches.

"Personally, I know I can do better. I’ve acquired a bit of confidence and I am eagerly anticipating Sunday’s match against Cesena to bring a bit of happiness back to our fans and the club.

"The fans don’t deserve this moment and they deserve a Milan that wins every game. For the moment we cannot give them this gift, but we’re working, hoping for a bit of luck and let’s see what happens against Cesena."
