Despite the criticism Manchester United are receiving for their football, Luke Shaw has pointed to the fact that they are on a good run of form and are always improving.

Though they are third in the league table, the Red Devils have been receiving flak from some quarters for their style of football.

Louis van Gaal has been accused of sacrificing free-flowing attacking football at the altar of results and they have come in for criticism for playing a sterile, possession-based game, which has stopped them from creating too many goalscoring opportunities.

The England full-back feels much of the criticism is uncalled for and their form of the last few months, where they have lost just once in 19 matches in all competitions, speaks for itself.

Though he admits that Manchester United are drawing too many away games, Shaw feels the squad are happy with the team’s current state and are confident that once they iron out few of the glitches, the criticism will also stop.

“There have been a lot of negative comments about us in the press, but we have only lost one game in the last 19 and that shows we are improving as a team”, Shaw told MUTV.

“Maybe there are still comments going around that we aren’t playing the right football, but we are not losing and we are getting results. If we can turn those draws into wins, then there won’t be many negative comments.

"As a team, we are all happy with how it is going and we are still in the FA Cup, which is a very important thing for us, so we just need to kick on from here.”
