AC Milan midfielder Marco van Ginkel has cautioned his team-mates against taking Serie A strugglers Cesena lightly in their Serie A game today.

The Rossoneri are in desperate need of points as they look to climb up the table and finish the season on a high.

Filippo Inzaghi's team are currently placed eleventh in the league table, trailing rivals Inter Milan by two points.

The Chelsea-contracted man therefore sees the match against Cesena as an opportunity to put all three points on the board,as they are playing against a side that are struggling for form.

The 22-year-old also wants to make full use of the home support to get the best result out of the match.

"Cesena is among the last in Serie A, we have to respect them anyway, even if we are playing at home and it is very important to win", Van Ginkel told his club's official site.

"We need to focus this week during training to prepare well for this match because we need to win.

"We have to be aggressive, even with the help of our fans. I want to play to be important and help the team."

The youngster was not part of the last two matches of his team. And therefore he wants to use the Cesena match as a stage to convince his manager that he is ready.

"In the last two games I have not played, so I have to train hard to convince the coach that I am ready. I feel good.”
