Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been placed on red alert after Danilo refused to extend his contract with FC Porto.

The Brazilian defender has furthered his reputation over the current campaign with consistently impressive performances at the Estadio do Dragao.

Danilo's development has not gone unnoticed and several of Europe's big guns are keen to snap him up. Both Manchester United and Manchester City have been linked, while Real Madrid are keen.

Barcelona have not lost sight of Danilo, but would need the defender to sit tight until their transfer ban expires in 2016; and international team-mate Neymar has been doing his bit to help.

Porto are keen for Danilo, whose contract runs out in the summer of 2016, to pen a fresh deal.

But according to Portuguese daily A Bola, the 23-year-old has turned down Porto's approaches, despite the club offering to reduce his release clause sum, which is thought to sit around the €50m mark.

Porto may now be forced to consider selling Danilo in the summer of risk losing him for free the following year.
