Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was pleased with his side’s dominant performance in their win over Borussia Dortmund last night.

Both sides were on the scoresheet within the first twenty minutes of the game through Carlos Tevez and Marco Reus, but a goal from Alvaro Morata just before the break helped Juventus to keep their noses in front in the Champions League last 16 tie.

Though they conceded an away goal to Dortmund, the Juventus boss was reasonably pleased with his side’s performance in Turin last night and stressed that winning the home leg was always their primary goal.

He also feels conceding the away goal could have been avoided as the Germans created very few goalscoring opportunities in the first half and believes his side’s performance improved after the break.

“We're happy because we've won the home leg and above all we performed well”, Allegri told the club’s official site.

“We had a few defensive problems in the first half when they pressed us in midfield. It's a shame about the goal, but these things happen. In the second half we were a bit better.”

Allegri feels such kinds of tough games will do a world of good for Juventus as they were prepared to dig in and dominated the game by denying Dortmund the chance to get their noses in front in the tie.

“This game has done us good because you can't always dominate games; in games like these, you can dominate by not conceding and creating chances – it's just a different way of dominating.”
