Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao is delighted that Monaco put Arsenal to the sword in the Champions League last night.

Falcao is on loan at Old Trafford from Monaco for the season. The Colombian gave up the opportunity to play in the Champions League with the principality club to move to Manchester United.

He continues to keep a close eye on Monaco's fortunes and was pleased to see them produce a shock 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal, which puts them in pole position to reach the quarter-finals.

Falcao took to Twitter to write: "Congraulations to Monaco for the magnificent result this evening. Dague Monegu!!!"

The striker could yet be returning to Monaco in the summer if Manchester United do not activate a purchase option contained in the loan agreement.

The Red Devils will need to pay a fee of around €55m to keep the former Atletico Madrid striker on a permanent basis.

Monaco looked far from toothless without Falcao, as Dimitar Berbatov led the line against Arsenal and scored the second of his side's three goals in the first leg of the tie.
