Ahead of their League Cup final against Chelsea this Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are well equipped to get the better of their London rivals.

Chadli landed at Spurs in the summer of 2013 and has since then gone on to become a regular presence in their starting eleven. In the current season he has scored seven goals and assisted a further five in his 23 league appearances thus far.

Pochettino’s men head into the match on the back of their 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina in the second leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie which saw the London outfit booted out of Europe’s second tier competition after a 3-1 aggregate loss.

Unfazed by their midweek defeat, the Belgium international has set his sights on the League Cup decider and he feels that they can win the final and secure their first trophy this season.

“It means a lot to be at Wembley”, Chadli told Spurs TV.

“We all worked hard to get there and now it’s about winning the cup.

“It’s one game and we know we can do it”, he added.

Tottenham started 2015 in impressive fashion by defeating Jose Mourinho’s side 5-3 in a breathtaking display of attacking football. And Chadli takes it as a proof that Spurs have it in them to get the better of their bitter London rivals.

“We have showed that we can beat Chelsea and we have to try to do it again.”

With the honours shared between the two sides in the league this season – Chelsea won 3-0 at Stamford Bridge and Tottenham Hotspur exacted revenge with a 5-3 win at White Hart Lane – the League Cup final promises to be a humdinger of an affair.
