Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed he has a concept for finals, which involves only winning and not just taking part.

The Blues grabbed a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup final at Wembley today, with goals from John Terry in the first half and then Diego Costa in the second half putting Spurs to the sword.

For Mourinho, after not winning anything at Chelsea last season, picking up the cup was vital and in keeping with his philosophy and approach regarding finals.

Mourinho told Sky Sports: "I have a concept about finals. Finals are not to play. Finals are to win."

The Chelsea manager also believes that his side controlled the match against Spurs and always posed a threat on the counter attack.

The Portuguese tactician said: "We controlled the game really well. We knew we would be dangerous in the counter attack. But we played like we should play a final."

Mourinho also feels that Spurs did not really trouble his side, who were defensively solid.

"They had a couple of chances, but nothing else", the Chelsea manager insisted.

The Blues, who are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table, will now aim to win the league title and the Champions League, where they face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their round of 16 tie.
