Jordan Henderson says that Liverpool now have huge confidence for the rest of the season after beating Manchester City 2-1 at Anfield today.

Both teams started with very attacking intent, but it was Liverpool who made the early breakthrough when Henderson picked the ball up just outside the penalty area, cut inside and hit a right-footed shot past Joe Hart in the eleventh minute.

Manchester City quickly looked threatening though and Sergio Aguero shrugged off the Liverpool defence to hit the post. He then produced a superb ball to play in Edin Dzeko, who equalised in the 25th minute.

In the second half, Liverpool stepped up their efforts and took control of the game, dominating Manchester City in midfield and enjoying the lion's share of the play.

The Reds made their dominance count when Philippe Coutinho hit a superb shot which flew past Hart in the 75th minute.
