Everton are lining up a €20m summer swoop for Inter Milan’s young midfield star Mateo Kovacic, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Liverpool at points over the last 12 months.
Kovacic is one of the most important players of Roberto Mancini’s squad at the San Siro and Inter see him as a big part of their future. He recently pledged his loyalty to the Nerazzurri by penning a new deal until 2019.
However, the Croat’s performances in Serie A have not gone unnoticed and a number of top clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool, are keeping a close eye on his progress in Milan.
The 20-year-old is seen as a potential star for the future and Inter are desperate to hold on to the midfielder, who they believe will become the lynchpin of the club in the next few years.
However, other than Manchester United and Liverpool, another English club are interested in Kovacic and according to Croatian daily Novosti Sportske, Everton have now thrown their hat into the race for the midfielder’s signature.

It has been claimed that the Toffees are keen to add Kovacic’s considerable talents to their squad at the end of the season and are prepared to offer €20m to Inter for his services.
However, the Merseyside club are expected to find it hard to get a deal done for Kovacic in the summer, as his new long term contract gives Inter the upper hand in any negotiations and they are reluctant to part with the midfielder in the near future.
