After their win over Manchester City yesterday, Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana believes that the Reds are getting back to their best and need to continue playing at the same level.

Liverpool defeated the reigning Premier League champions 2-1 courtesy of two stupendous strikes from Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho at Anfield. Edin Dzeko scored the solitary goal for the visitors, but in the end they went home empty handed.

The victory for Brendan Rodgers’ side has seen them climb to fifth in the table after collecting 48 points from 27 rounds of games so far as they look to qualify for the Champions League for the second year in a row.

Lallana is pleased with his team’s performance yesterday and feels that they have found their feet, playing the way they intend to play every match.

“That's how we like playing, how we feel we are at our best – on the front foot, harassing teams and starving them of time on the ball”, Lallana told the club site.

“I thought we did that well, we had chances and we were disappointed to concede and not go in [at half-time] leading”, he added.

After struggling in the early part of the season, the Merseyside giants have gone undefeated in the league since their loss to Manchester United on 14th December.

And they are now unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League outings.

The midfielder intends to continue helping Liverpool continue their rich vein of form.

“We have picked up momentum since the turn of the year and we're just not looking back.

“We're looking at the next game, Burnley, already.”

A win for Liverpool against Burnley on Wednesday would further strengthen the Reds’ push for a finish in the top four come the season’s end.
