Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an injury update on Jordon Ibe, explaining that the winger will be out until the end of March with a twisted knee.

Ibe picked up an injury in Liverpool's Europa League defeat to Besiktas on Thursday and as a result missed their weekend Premier League win over Manchester City.

The youngster has been in superb form for Liverpool since being recalled to the club from a loan spell with Championship side Derby County, where he made 20 appearances.

And at a press conference today, Rodgers provided an update on the fitness of Ibe and explained when he is likely to return to action, claiming his injury is "not too serious".

"Jordon Ibe will probably be out for a few weeks", the Northern Irishman said.

"He twisted his knee laterally on the outside in Turkey.

"He's had a scan on that. It's not too serious, but he'll be out for a few weeks.

"We'll probably have him back at the end of March."

Liverpool will be hoping that Ibe can return on schedule to help the side continue their push to finish in the top four in the Premier League.

The Reds currently sit fifth in the standings and just two points off fourth placed Manchester United. Rodgers' men are next in action against Burnley on Wednesday night.
