Ahead of their Spanish Cup semi-final against Villarreal tomorrow, Barcelona manager Luis Enrique feels that his team are in prime condition for the tie and making the final would do them a world of good.

Barcelona have enjoyed stellar form since the turn of the year, losing only twice in 2015, and they have won their other 13 matches across three competitions this year.

The Catalan giants will play Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side in the second leg of their Spanish Cup semi-final tie at the Madrigal. Having won the first leg 3-1 at the Camp Nou, Enrique’s side will start the match in a strong position.

To their credit, Villarreal drew 1-1 against La Liga leaders Real Madrid in their last match at the Santiago Bernabeu, even though the visitors had rested several of their first team regulars for their trip to the Spanish capital.

Barcelona finished last season without any major silverware and only the Spanish Super Cup to show for their efforts in manager Tata Martino’s only season at the helm of the Catalan giants.

Enrique believes that getting to the final of the Spanish Cup would do Barcelona a world of good as they inch closer to add another silverware to their trophy cabinet.

“Getting through to the final would definitely do us good; all positive results do”, Enrique was quoted by Marca as saying at a pre-match conference.

The former Spain international has rotated his squad heavily and as a result his players are well rested to mount a serious challenge for domestic competitions as well as the Champions League. And the Asturian feels that his team are well prepared to take the game to Villarreal tomorrow.

“We go into the game in top condition – because of the minutes played, our intensity, with all the options we have for each position.”

However, Enrique admitted that entering the final is no guarantee of a trophy.

“I don't know if we'll end up with the possibility of winning titles, but that is what we have been out to do since the start of the season.”
