Ahead of tomorrow’s German Cup tie against Eintracht Braunschweig, Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has said that the Bavarians are not taking their rivals lightly.

Bayern Munich are scheduled to play the 2. Bundesliga outfit in their last sixteen tie at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side are sitting atop the Bundesliga with 58 points from 23 rounds of games, eight ahead of their nearest rivals Wolfsburg. The Bavarian outfit look on course to win their third successive league title.

Their rivals, on the other hand, are lying sixth in the German second division after being relegated last year from the Bundesliga.

But their opponents’ league position notwithstanding, Muller has said that the reigning German champions are not leaving any stone unturned in their preparation for the match and insists that they not approach the game with the “wrong attitude.”

“We always prepare superbly for every opponent”, Muller told the club site.

“We will never go into a match with the wrong attitude. I’m expecting us to get at them right from the off.”

Guardiola’s side are among the favourites to win the Champions League, where they will play Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg of their round of 16 tie later this month.

And Muller insists that his team’s stellar displays have not changed their attitudes and they remain grounded.

“We’re not floating round in seventh heaven. We remain very self-critical.

“We set out to win our matches, and if we can, we obviously try to win them the way we’ve been doing recently.”
