Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal feels Newcastle United’s more expansive style of play will suit his team tomorrow night in their Premier League encounter.

The Red Devils will be looking to secure another three points at St. James’ Park in their quest to secure a Champions League berth for next season.

Van Gaal knows any more slip-ups might cost them dearly in the top four race, which is getting tighter by the minute and he is looking to get another positive result after beating Sunderland on Saturday.

Manchester United don’t have an encouraging record on the road this season and have won just three times away from home in the league under the Dutchman.

However, Van Gaal feels Newcastle United’s free flowing style of football will suit Manchester United, who have often been frustrated by more defensive minded teams this season, playing ten men behind the ball.

"They always play with a very high rhythm, they want to give a lot of energy and the fans are supporting a lot”, Van Gaal told MUTV.

“They want to play football – I like that. I hope it shall be a good game and we shall win.”

Manchester United registered a comfortable 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day at Old Trafford and the Dutchman admits that he did review the game ahead of their trip to St. James’ Park as part of their preparations.

“I remember the fantastic goal Wayne Rooney made after a fantastic counter”, Van Gaal said.

“I have seen it again, as always before a match, and I think we played well. The win was well deserved; we could have scored more, but it is always like that.”
