Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Benjamin Stambouli believes that his team’s remaining 12 games this season are of the utmost importance if they are to achieve their targets.

Stambouli, who arrived at White Hart Lane last summer, has made 24 appearances in all competitions so far and has scored a solitary goal, which came in Spurs' Europa League campaign which was halted by Fiorentina last week.

Spurs are currently sitting seventh in the Premier League having lost only twice in their last ten league outings. Their recent form has sparked belief in the team to mount a return to the Champions League for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

And Stambouli feels that in order to achieve their objectives, Spurs will have to treat their remaining games with the utmost importance.

“Every game is important – we have 12 matches left and every single one is key”, Benjamin told the club site.

“We have some good targets to aim for in the Premier League and we have to move forward with our heads up”, he added.

Tonight’s game against Swansea is Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s first game since their defeat to Chelsea in the League Cup final on Sunday.

Spurs are six points behind fourth placed Manchester United as the race for the Champions League hots up. And the Frenchman feels that his team would do well to remain focused on their own fixtures.

“We need to be aggressive in a good way. If we put all of these factors together – focus, a good mentality, positivity – and then we will win.

“We have to be focused on ourselves.”
