Ronny Deila admits that he would be disappointed if Celtic fail to win the domestic treble this season, but said that it wouldn’t be termed as a failure if they don’t manage to complete the feat.

Jock Stein and Martin O’Neill are the only two managers in Celtic’s history who have managed to win the league title, the Scottish FA Cup and the Scottish League Cup in one season – but Deila feels his team have it in them to relive those moments this term.

Celtic are currently at the top of the Scottish league table, will play the FA Cup quarter-finals this Sunday and face Dundee United in the League Cup final on 15th March.

Deila believes that they are the best team in Scotland at the moment and if they wouldn’t be realising their full potential if they don’t go on to make a clean sweep of the domestic trophies on offer.

The Norwegian admits that with football’s fickle nature anything could happen and it wouldn’t be a complete failure if they fail to win all the three trophies, but he believes that with the talent at their disposal, Celtic have a big opportunity to win the treble this season.

“I would be disappointed if we don’t win the treble because I think we’re the best team and if we don’t get out our full potential then I will be disappointed but the cups are cups”, Deila told the club’s official site.

“Anything can happen. You can get a red card, be very unlucky, or the performance is bad and we lose because we are not good enough then I’ll be a little bit disappointed because I believe we can do it.

“You can’t say it’s a failure if we don’t win it when it’s only been done with two managers in the history of Celtic.

“You put too much demands on everybody but this is a big chance and opportunity and the players can make history.”
