Jordan Henderson feels that Daniel Sturridge was in superb form for Liverpool this evening after the striker scored in a 2-0 win over Burnley at Anfield.

Liverpool put Burnley under the cosh from the off on home turf, with Clarets goalkeeper Tom Heaton lucky to keep the Reds at bay in the initial portion of the match.




Burnley could not hold out forever though and Henderson gave Liverpool the lead, hitting a superb 20-yard shot to put the Reds in front in the 29th minute.

 


Liverpool were rampant, but had to wait until the 51st minute for their second goal, with Sturridge heading the ball home to score his first league goal since 31st January.

The Reds closed out the win and claimed three valuable Premier League points, with Henderson quickly striking a delighted note post match.

"It is another massive three points from us and keeps the momentum going. I thought that Daniel Sturridge's movement and holding up of the the ball was excellent", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"We are getting back to what we were doing well last season with high-tempo pressing high up and pitch and then playing in between the lines", Henderson added.

Liverpool are now up to fifth in the Premier League and have 51 points from 28 games so far.
