Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal believes Liverpool’s return to form has made the race for the Champions League spots even more interesting.

The Reds looked down and out when after suffering a 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace and they dropped down to 12th in the league table towards the end of November.

However, over the last few months Liverpool have been in a fantastic run of form and are currently unbeaten in eleven in the league. They are just two points off fourth placed Manchester United.

Though Manchester United are now facing serious competition for a top four finish, Van Gaal feels Liverpool’s return to form has only heightened the excitement among the fans and believes that it is good for the league.

“You can see that Liverpool have returned to form, just as we came back into the rat race”, Van Gaal told MUTV.
