Barcelona have been warned that full-back Dani Alves is on the verge of putting pen to paper with another club, amid continuing links with Manchester United.

Alves' contract at the Camp Nou comes to an end this coming summer and so far there has been no progress towards an extension.

The Brazilian's agent, who is also his ex-wife, has been speaking to a number of clubs willing to offer a fresh challenge to her client and it was claimed recently she headed to England for talks with Manchester United.

Now she has warned Barcelona that time is running out for them to make Alves a suitable contract extension offer, with the defender very close to signing for another side.

"We're close to reaching an agreement to sign for another club, negotiations are at an advanced stage", Dinorah Santana told Catalan radio station RAC1.

"Barcelona? Dani is still available, but he won't be able to wait much longer."

Should Barcelona lose Alves in the summer, they will not be able to sign a replacement due to being under a FIFA-imposed transfer ban for the whole of 2015.

Alves joined the Blaugrana in 2008 from fellow La Liga side Sevilla and has enjoyed a hugely successful time at the Camp Nou.
