Arsenal legend Gilberto Silva believes that Alexis Sanchez can help to power his old club to silverware on a regular basis, backing Arsene Wenger's decision to buy the Chilean.
The Gunners splashed the cash to sign Sanchez from Barcelona last summer, beating off competition from Liverpool to land their man.
He has been impressive in Arsenal colours, scoring 19 goals already for the Premier League giants and is in the midst of a sensational debut campaign in English football.
For Gilberto, Sanchez could be the final piece in the jigsaw that helps Arsenal to become consistent winners and pick up trophies on a regular basis.
"It was important for him and the team to start his time with the club well and I really like his style", the Brazilian told Arsenal's site.

"Arsene Wenger and the club are very careful when they want to sign a player, they don’t want to make a mistake.
"But I think they did the right thing with Alexis and he is paying them back with his performances.
"He is doing well and I hope he continues like that because he can be a guy who can help Arsenal win titles, that is what the club wants."
Sanchez will hope to score his 20th goal of the season for Arsenal on Monday evening when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford in an FA Cup quarter-final tie.
The Gunners are defending the trophy they won last season.
