Brendan Rodgers has urged Liverpool to maintain their momentum until the end of the season after they continued their good run with a 2-0 defeat of Burnley last night.

Goals from Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge proved too much for the Clarets to handle at Anfield and Liverpool picked up another vital three Premier League points as they push to finish in the top four.

Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League games and in the form table over the same period are top, two points ahead of Arsenal, with 30 points collected over the 12 games.

Rodgers was delighted with the win over Burnley, but has challenged his side to ensure their good run of form lasts until the end of the season.

"It was a good performance. These can be difficult games because you're expected to win", he told BBC Radio 5 live.

"Burnley are a tough team to beat, but we were very, very good in our defensive organisation and we looked very exciting going forward.

"It's all about the levels of our performances – we are focused, we are playing the game at our level and we're entering a stage of the season which we can enjoy.

"We just have to maintain this momentum", the Liverpool manager added.

Next up for the Reds is a break from Premier League action with an FA Cup tie on Sunday, Blackburn Rovers providing the opposition at Anfield.

In the Premier League, Liverpool currently sit fifth with 51 points from 28 games to their name, two points behind fourth placed Manchester United.
