Celtic manager Ronny Deila says he has experienced worse pressure than that he is currently under at the Scottish champions.

Deila's men missed the chance to extend their lead over Aberdeen at the top of the Scottish Premiership to nine points last night after they slipped to a surprise 1-0 home defeat to St Johnstone.

Celtic are chasing a domestic treble, but Deila insists the pressure is not getting to him and claims to have had it worse.

"We have so many big games to look forward to and that’s good as that means we are doing well. I have had worse pressure", he told a press conference today.

The Celtic manager also pointed to potential fatigue as a reason for his side being at less than their best against St Johnstone.

"We have played so many matches in last month and knew it would be very tough.

"In the end, it’s very tough to keep up energy."

Celtic now take a break from Premiership action with a Scottish Cup quarter-final tie against Dundee United on Sunday, a game that will be followed by the League Cup final against the same opposition on 15th March.

And Deila says he is happy to have four days to prepare for the clash.

"I'm delighted the game is on Sunday as we get four days to prepare for the game."
