Celtic striker John Guidetti has denied that he held talks with Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel last weekend.

Guidetti is on a season-long loan at Celtic from Manchester City, but his contract with the Citizens expires at the end of the season, something which is seeing a scramble threaten to break out for his signature.

Feyenoord are keen to snap up Guidetti and pair him with Dirk Kuyt up front for next term. Guidetti remains a cult figure at De Kuip following a successful loan spell with Feyenoord in the 2011/12 campaign.

Van Geel, who manages Feyenoord's transfer policy, was in Scotland at the weekend amid speculation he was there to meet Guidetti.

But Guidetti says that was not the case and has played down growing speculation he is set for Feyenoord in the summer.

"I'm here for the match", Guidetti told RTV Rijnmond before Celtic's clash with St Johnstone last night.

"Why was Van Geel here? I've no idea. Maybe just to watch a fun game", the Swede added.

Guidetti started in prolific fashion at Celtic, regularly slotting in goals. However, in the second half of the season his goal return for Celtic has dropped.
