Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri feels last night’s loss to Fiorentina at home should serve as a wake-up call for his team before a crucial phase of the season.

Two goals from Chelsea loanee Mohamed Salah helped La Viola to register a 2-1 win over the Italian champions in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final at the Juventus Stadium.

The Egyptian winger tormented the Juventus defence in front of their home fans and though Fernando Llorente’s 24th minute strike means all is not lost for Allegri’s men in the semi-final tie, the Italian feels the result did serve as a wake-up call for his team ahead of the business end of the season.

The Juventus manager admits that beating Fiorentina away from home will be a tough ask for his men, but he stressed that they are up the challenge and have real desire to reach the final of the competition.

“This result needs to make us sit up and take notice ahead of our next games in Serie A, which still isn't over”, Allegri was quoted as saying by the club’s official site.

“Now we’ll prepare for an important and difficult encounter on Monday against Sassuolo.”

The second leg of the semi-final tie will take place at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Tuesday, 7th April.
