Ryan Giggs has stamped on talk of a rift between Louis van Gaal and himself and claimed he is learning every day under the Dutch tactician.

Van Gaal appointed Giggs as his assistant boss at Old Trafford after taking charge of the Red Devils in the summer.

The club icon is regularly tasked with preparing reports on opposing teams and presenting his findings to the first team squad. Van Gaal has praised his work on a number of occasions this term.

Nevertheless, it has been claimed of late that the two men have a strained relationship.

Not so says Giggs, who told the BBC: "I'm working as hard as I can and enjoying every minute of it.

"It's coming to that part of the season where the media will look at any little thing just to make it more exciting and more interesting."

And the 41-year-old insists that working under Van Gaal, who has managed both Bayern Munich and Barcelona in his career, is a superb learning experience.

"I've really enjoyed working under him and learning something new every day. I'm learning under a great manager.

"He's won everything and to work under someone like Louis is a great experience for me.

"He's been brilliant with me and given me a lot of responsibility.

"Each day I learn something different and I love working with the players."

Indeed Giggs, who had his own taste of the manager's chair last season when he guided the Red Devils through their last few games following the sacking of David Moyes, views the chance to work alongside Van Gaal at Manchester United as a precious opportunity.

"I've been given a great opportunity to be assistant of a club that I've spent my whole career at."
