Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, writing in his column in the Independent, says he doesn’t believe Arsenal have it in them to get a win at Old Trafford on Monday night in their FA Cup quarter-final clash against the Red Devils.

Arsenal and Manchester United are the most successful teams in the competition’s history with eleven triumphs each, but the Red Devils last won the trophy in 2004.

The Gunners are the holders this season and are keen to add one more FA Cup triumph to become the most successful team in the competition.

However, Scholes feels the holders’ recent record against Manchester United suggest that they will exit the competition in the quarter-final stage this season. Though Louis van Gaal’s team have not been at their fluent best this term, the former Red Devil feels that they have enough about them to see off the Gunners on Monday at home.

“When United face Arsenal on Monday in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, it is hard to see Arsenal winning even though it has been far from a great season for Louis van Gaal’s team”, Scholes wrote.

The eleven-time Premier League winner also believes Arsenal and Manchester United will fight it out for the last Champions League berth this season as he feels that Liverpool’s recent run of form will carry them to third position in the league.

“I think it will also be United against Arsenal for fourth place over the next 10 games in the Premier League.

“Liverpool look to me like the best bet for third. They are certainly playing better football than either United or Arsenal.”

Arsenal have won just three times in their last 20 meeting with Manchester United in all competitions. They last won at Old Trafford in 2006 and since then have managed only one draw.
