Roberto Mancini believes Inter should have pressed for the third goal after coming back from two goals down against Napoli last night.

Goals from Marek Hamsik and Gonzalo Higuain gave Napoli a comfortable two goal lead going into the last 30 minutes of the Serie A match in Naples. However, 18 minutes from time Rodrigo Palacio reduced the deficit with a close range strike and with only three minutes left on the clock, Mauro Icardi struck to earn a point for the visitors.

Mancini was pleased with his side’s performance against Rafael Benitez’s men and does not agree with the assessment that they were poor for three-quarters of the game and only started to show their quality in the last 20 minutes.

Though the Nerazzurri did well to earn a point in Naples, the Inter boss believes they should have pressed harder after levelling the scores and should have looked for the killer goal at the death.

"I enjoyed all my players' performances, because we tried to take the game to them”, Mancini told the club’s official site.

"As for whether we played badly for 70 minutes, football's great because everyone sees things differently. For instance, I thought my guys played well.

"I'm not happy because towards the end we should have tried to win the game. We should have pressed for a third goal."

Inter remain ninth in Serie A, while Napoli frittered away an opportunity to close the gap on the top two and remain third in the league table.
