Arsenal and Manchester United linked Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani has virtually ruled out a move back to Napoli in the future.

There has been speculation that the Uruguayan international is getting tired of playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the French capital and, it is thought, he is believed to be ready to make a move in the summer.

Cavani is often played on the flanks to accommodate the Swede in the central striker’s role and the Uruguayan is finally losing patience with the constant tinkering with his position in the team.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been claimed to be keeping a close eye on developments at the Parc des Princes and it is believed that the English duo will make a move for him in the summer if they receive any positive signals from the Cavani camp.

Many believe that Napoli are also keen to welcome back their striker to the Stadio San Paolo, but Cavani has more or less ruled out move back to the club.

When asked whether he would like to rejoin Napoli in the future, the forward told Radio Sport 890: “I would not think twice before rejoining Napoli, but not as long as [club president Aurelio] De Laurentiis is there.”

The relationship between the duo soured after the Napoli president made unsavoury remarks about the striker after he left Napoli in 2013.

Cavani's words will undoubtedly come as welcome news to his other suitors, effectively taking Napoli off the table as an option.
