Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has compared his club's young striker Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

Lacazette has been in superb form for Lyon this season, building on last year's showing which put Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur firmly on his tail.

The striker has fired Lyon to the top of Ligue 1, ahead even of big-spending Paris Saint-Germain, with a haul of 23 goals in 25 games.

Aulas is a firm fan and believes Les Gones have a real gem in the 23-year-old, even going as far as to dub him the next Henry.

"There is no problem with Alex, who is the best player at OL and capable of doing everything good", Aulas told L'Equipe, following comments from Lacazette which suggested he does not know what his future holds beyond the summer.

"I hold him in the esteem of the great player he has become and I have affection for a young man who is the symbol of OL both today and tomorrow.

"He is our version of a young Thierry Henry.

"He will end this season as the best player in the league and I'm proud", the president added.

Lyon are likely to face a battle to keep hold of Lacazette in the summer, with big-money bids expected to roll into the Stade Gerland for the 23-year-old.

Aulas however is not keen to part with the striker lightly.
